Session Description:
The symposium focuses on advanced scientific and engineering approaches for sustainable materials management. Topics span recycling and upcycling of polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, electronic waste, and bio-based materials, alongside green and low-energy processing technologies such as solvent-free synthesis, catalytic depolymerization, electrochemical recovery, and bio-refinery routes. The program highlights emerging trends, including AI-guided materials optimization, digital manufacturing, life-cycle assessment, carbon footprint minimization, and scale-up for circular production systems. Emphasis is placed on linking materials design, process innovation, and environmental performance to enable closed-loop material flows and resource-efficient manufacturing.
The scope includes, but is not limited to
Chemical, mechanical, and advanced recycling technologies for polymers, metals, ceramics, composites, and electronic waste
- Upcycling and value-added material conversion from post-consumer and industrial waste streams
- Green and sustainable processing methods, including solvent-free synthesis, low-temperature processing, and benign reagents
- Catalytic, electrochemical, and biotechnological routes for materials recovery and resource regeneration
- Bio-based, biodegradable, and circular material systems designed for end-of-life recovery
- Process intensification, energy efficiency, and carbon footprint reduction in materials manufacturing
- Digitalization and innovative technologies such as AI-assisted materials design, life-cycle assessment (LCA), and data-driven sustainability optimization
