On behalf of the Materials Research Society of Thailand (MRS-Thailand) and the Organizing Committee, it is my great pleasure to welcome all researchers, and participants to the International Union of Materials Research Societies –19th International Conference on Electronic Materials 2026 (IUMRS-ICEM 2026), which will be held at The Empress Convention Center, Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 28 June to 1 July 2026.

        IUMRS-ICEM is a serial international conference in materials research organized by the International Union of Materials Research Societies (IUMRS). For IUMRS-ICEM 2026, the conference is hosted by the Materials Research Society of Thailand (MRS-Thailand) in partnership with the Materials Science Research Center, Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University. The conference serves as an important platform for scientists, engineers, and researchers from around the world to exchange knowledge and recent advances in electronic and functional materials, as well as materials for energy, environmental, and sustainable technologies. The conference continues to play a vital role in fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and strengthening global research networks in the materials science community.

        The IUMRS-ICEM 2026 will feature 13 technical sessions covering a broad range of topics, including Semiconductors, Photonic Materials and Devices; Polymers, Biomaterials and Medical Devices; Biosensors, Flexible, and Wearable Electronics; Ferroelectric and Piezoelectric Electronic Materials; Solar Cells, Materials and Devices for Energy Harvesting; Batteries, Materials and Devices for Energy Storage; Materials Processing for Advanced Packaging Technologies and Applications; Instrumentation and Advanced Materials Characterization; AI-driven Electronics, IoT and Digital Technologies for Next-generation Innovations; Recycling Materials and Environmentally-friendly Processing; Quantum Materials and Technologies (Devices, meta materials); Industrial Perspectives in Materials and Innovation (by Invitation); Rare Earth, Critical Materials and its Applications. Attendees will have the opportunity to engage in stimulating discussions, presentations, and networking opportunities with experts from the international academic community and industry.

        It is a great honor for MRS-Thailand to host IUMRS-ICEM 2026 and to welcome the international materials research community to Thailand. This conference reflects the strong commitment of our community to advancing materials research that addresses current scientific challenges and supports sustainable technological development. I am confident that IUMRS-ICEM 2026 will provide a platform for experts to share their knowledge, collaborate on new ideas, and inspire collaborations and future research directions in electronic materials and related technologies
